I am a social psychologist specialising in the study of collective behaviour. I completed my first degree at the University of Sussex, and my MSc and PhD at the University of Exeter. I have also studied and worked at the University of Amsterdam, the University of Abertay Dundee, and the Trust for the Study of Adolescence. I came back to Sussex in 1997.

I am a former editor of the British Journal of Social Psychology. I am a UCU rep for Psychology. 

Covid-19:
I participated in the SPI-B advisory sub-group of SAGE and of two British Psychological Society Covid-19 task force working groups. I am a member of the behavioural subgroup of Independent SAGE.
