I received my undergraduate degree from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, writing an iconographical study of the Mannerist Sacro Bosco of Bomarzo. I was then awarded a master’s degree in Eighteenth Century Studies from the University of Sheffield with a prize-winning dissertation on political women’s dress in Revolutionary Paris. In 2020, I completed a PhD in History at the University of Cambridge (St John’s College), where my project on female equestrian culture in seventeenth-century France was funded by the AHRC and the Cambridge Trust. 

Since my PhD, I held fellowships with the Society for Renaissance Studies, the Warburg Institute, the Harvard Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, the Herzog August Bibliothek and the British School at Rome. Between 2022 and 2026, I was the Sir John Elliott Junior Research Fellow in History at Oriel College, University of Oxford.
