I am currently a Faculty Member in the School of Engineering and Informatic at the University of Sussex, UK. Prior to joining Sussex, I was a Senior Lecturer at the School of EEECS and a member of Centre for Wireless Innovation (CWI) at the Queen’s University Belfast, UK.  I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and completed my Postdoc at the Johns Hopkins University, US. For the past 20 years, I have been conducting research on applied electromagnetics and antenna theory, optics/photonics and plasmonics, with applications in wireless communications, metrology and sensing, imaging, biomedical and more. My main focus is on THz technology, which uses the THz band (0.1-10 THz) of the electromagnetic spectrum for various purposes, such as spectroscopy, imaging, and wireless communication. In the past, I have worked on interdisciplinary projects with neuroscientists on non-invasive electrical/magnetic deep brain stimulation, with physicists on quantum metrology and material characterization using THz spectroscopy.
