Dr. Yuqian Zhao is an Associate Professor in Finance. Previously, He worked at Essex and as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo. Yuqian's research interests lie in the area of financial econometrics, empirical asset pricing and decentralized finance. Yuqian is a member of the Quantitative FinTech Group at the University of Sussex Business School, and his work has been published in the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, Econometric Theory, and the Econometrics Journal, etc.

Yuqian's teaching expertise is in the areas of econometrics and quantitative methods. He has taught modules across institutes in the UK, including econometrics, quantitative methods and blockchains at the undergraduate level and financial econometrics, data analytics in finance and algorithmic trading at the postgraduate level.
