Sara is a social scientist with a background in medicine. They qualified in medicine and surgery at the Federico II University Medical School in Napoli, Italy. After working clinically in the NHS, they completed an MA in Medical anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and then a PhD in Medical education at King's College London. Sara joined Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2023, after over 12 years at King's College London, where they were senior lecturer in Social sciences and healthcare at the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative care. Sara is Deputy course lead for the MRes in Medical research and module lead for the Research methods and critical appraisal module and the Advanced qualitative research methods module across post-graduate courses at BSMS. They are the Academic lead for international students and Deputy research lead for the Department of Medical education at BSMS. Sara is currently available for PhD supervision.
