Marianna is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, having previously been an Associate Fellow. Her teaching is research-led and sits across healthcare law, family law, child law and tort law. She is particularly interested in supporting students to think critically about the relationship between law, rights, vulnerability, autonomy, family life, care and state intervention.

Marianna supervises undergraduate and taught postgraduate research projects in areas related to surrogacy, healthcare law, family law, children’s rights, reproductive technologies, legal parenthood and human rights.

PhD supervision

Marianna welcomes enquiries from prospective PhD researchers whose projects relate to healthcare law, family law and human rights. She is especially interested in supervising projects on surrogacy, medically assisted reproduction, legal parenthood, reproductive rights and reproductive justice, children’s rights, and the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights.
