As a postgraduate researcher, my primary research interest lies in studying various gender-based human rights violations and the bi-directional influence it may have on the survivors’ intersectional identities (like class, caste, ethnicity, and sexuality). Specifically, I am interested in understanding women’s experiences with violence, discrimination, and harassment (in private and public domains) in the context of the Global South; focusing on the cultural, social and economic processes that influence her actual and perceived access to formal redressal systems and informal support. My secondary goals in conducting such research are to influence policies in specific countries as well as to demonstrate the necessity of decolonized research in academia.
