I am a performer, theatre-maker, doctoral researcher and tutor in Drama, Theatre and Performance. My doctoral research adopts a queer feminist lens of failure as a means to engage with sexual/gendered trauma in performance. It builds on seminal work in queer and feminist theory, performance studies and trauma studies, focusing on the hopeful and hopeless, generative and non-redemptive types of failure and applying these critical frameworks specifically to feminist modes of performing sexual and gendered trauma. With a focus on developing trauma-informed frameworks and strategies of care for performance to work with and through lived traumatic experience, my research interrogates what tools, if any, live performance can offer to access and improve circuits of disclosure, witnessing and 'collective' affective experience – and the kinds of ethical challenges engendered. 

With colleagues from the Sussex Centre for Gender Studies, I co-convene the interdisciplinary Sexual Violence Research Cafe. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), and I hold a BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Warwick and an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths, University of London. 

Alongside my doctoral research at the University, I work part-time as a Research Communications Coordinator within the Media, Arts and Humanities Professional Services team, and as Senior Project Officer for the European Research Council-funded project, Promiscuous Print: Legal Deposit Libraries, Rejected Texts, and New Methods for Negative Bibliography, led by Dr Hannah Field.

My performance practice, a fusion of live art, queer cabaret and clowning, has been programmed in venues and festivals including Battersea Arts Centre, The Marlborough, Arts Admin, Hackney Showroom, Camden People's Theatre, SPILL Festival, Duckie (RVT), The Roundhouse, The Glory, VEEM House of Performance, Theater an Zee, DICE Festival, Clear Lines Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Dublin Fringe, Prague Fringe, Brighton Fringe, Folkestone Fringe.
