BIO

Luca Rondina is an Associate Professor in Economics at the University of Sussex. He has obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of Surrey under the supervision of Ricardo Nunes and Antonio Mele.

Luca is an economics teacher with over six years of teaching experience at all levels, from foundation year to research-based degrees. His core areas of teaching and scholarship are macroeconomics and programming for economics. In the area of macroeconomics, Luca has led undergraduate modules at different levels of the economics curriculum. Moreover, he has contributed to teaching in a research-focus summer school on dynamic stochastic macroeconomic models. In the area of programming for economics, he has designed and led economics courses aimed at providing the basics of programming, data manipulation, and data visualisation for economists. Programming languages used are Python and MatLab.

Luca's research interests range from the welfare evaluation of household taxation reforms in a collective household model of consumption and labour supply to optimal monetary policy when central bank credibility is imperfect.
