I teach across the undergraduate spectrum through to the MA in Music and Sonic Media, and I also supervise composition and sound art projects at PhD level.  At undergraduate and taught PG level I have taught: MA Composition, Film Music and Audiovisual Project; Film Music Beyond Hollywood; Studio Composition and Production, Global Music Studies, Advanced Composition Portfolio, and Rethinking Classical Music, and Introduction to Music Studies. I have also taught on the modules Industry Project (3rd Year UG), Music and Society, and Histories of Women in Music.

Before coming to Sussex, I taught as a visiting lecturer (Summer 2012) at the University of California, Berkeley, where I devised and ran a class in called Film Soundtracks: Audiovisual Analysis. From 2007 - 2010 as a Graduate Student Instructor at Berkeley, I taught on the following courses: Basic Musicianship, Introduction to Music Theory, History of Western Classical Music and Music Now.

I have also taught as a part time visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster (1994-1997) where I taught Film Music Composition, Sound Studies, Electroacoustic Music and the Avant Garde, and Music and its Audiences. Between 1991-1995 I taught Sampling, Mixing, Effects, Sequencing, Electroacoustic Composition and Sound Editing as a part time visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire.

As a freelance composer, I had short visiting lecturerships / ran workshops at the following: the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Nice (2016), City University (2015), Dartington College of the Arts (2000), The National Film and Television School (1997), The University of Liverpool (1995) and The Royal Northern College of Music (1994).
