During my time at Sussex, I have convened the MA modules "Thinking like an Anthropologist" and "The Anthropology of Reconciliation and Reconstruction", and the UG modules "Cultures of North Africa, South-west Asia and Central Asia", "Practising Anthropology"; as of 2021-2022, "Slavery, Emancipation, Legacies"; and, as of 2024-25, a second year political anthropology module. I have also taught on the MA module Contemporary African Issues.

I am interested in supervising doctoral research projects that connect with these research interests: revolution, projects for radical social change, liberation movements, emancipation from enslavement, redistribution and taxation, mobility, forced migration, veterans, the state, citizenship, the Sahara, the Arabian/Persian Gulf and South-west Asia and North Africa more broadly.
