I completed my PhD at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, focusing on structural studies of nuclear hormone receptor co-repressor complexes. Following this, I pursued postdoctoral research at the Institute of Cancer Research, London, investigating the structure and function of the Checkpoint with Forkhead and RING domain (CHFR) ubiquitin ligase. I then continued my postdoctoral work at Birkbeck College London, gaining molecular insights into substrate binding by the Protein Phosphatase PP5 and its role in Heat Shock Protein 90 (HSP90) chaperone complexes. At the University of Sussex, my research has been centred on understanding the role of HSP90 molecular chaperone complexes and post-translational modifications in the regulation of oncogenic kinases. In 2023, I obtained funding from Blood Cancer UK as a Principal Investigator, to further understand the structural assemblies of fusion kinases and their regulation by the HSP90 molecular chaperone system in Leukaemia. In 2025 I received an MRC Career Development Award to contunue to study the Structure, mechanisms of regulation and targeting of oncogenic tyrosine fusion kinases in Leukaemia.
