Ruth is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has teaching interests in healthcare law and equity.

The undergraduate final year Healthcare Law modules are taught around the team's research interests. Ruth currently focuses on research ethics, use of human tissue including organ donation, and the duty of candour. She has previously taught genetic discrimination, healthcare tourism, confidentiality and privacy, information disclosure and negligence, consent and battery in the context of healthcare, reproduction, and end of life decision-making. Her seminars and lectures are highly interactive, and discussions are wide-ranging. Ruth likes to draw links between ideas across the whole of healthcare law, and helps students to consolidate their knowledge through this approach.

Ruth delivers seminars on Undergraduate and MA Equity throughout the year. The course covers equitable remedies including tracing, creation and constitution of trusts, fiduciary duties, charities, purpose trusts, constructive trusts and resulting trusts. Ruth has particular interests in the role of constructive trusts in the commercial context, and the interaction between equity and restitution especially in relation to tracing. Ruth is working on the role of structural power in equity with TT Arvind.

Ruth is happy to supervise Undergraduate and MA Law dissertations in relation to any aspect of healthcare law and equity.
