My methodology is informed by ethnographic sensibility and comparative analysis. I am a legal scholar seeking to incorporate ethnographic expertise, arts (in particular dance) and interdisciplinarity into my legal research work. My research has explored, and still focuses on issues concerning recognition of same-sex relationships in comparative perspective; intrafamily disputes within sexually and gender diverse families; sexual orientation, gender identity and children's rights; domestic abuse and dispute resolution between lesbian partners; the influence of religion upon disputes between same-sex partners; same-sex couples, reproductive choices and children's rights; cause lawyering and strategic litigation; legal culture and access to justice; children, law and happiness; hormones, relations and the law; dance and the law. 

My research interests have attracted public funding, and resulted in both academic and wider impact publications. In particular, my work on family dispute resolution involving LGBTIQ+ partners and parents is having a tangible impact on mediation providers in the UK and in Italy (https://www.sussex.ac.uk/law/research/impact/rainbow_after_the_storm). To create awareness on the variety of family structures and the rights of children raised in diverse families, I have represented in a book for children the empirical data, I collected during the fieldwork for the research on mediation (Rainbow after the Storm: Mylo and his dads go to the mediator). To collect data and disseminate my research I use a variety of artistic means including dancing, crafting and poetry. This a poem I dedicate to children and young people:
