BIO

Sirko is a Reader in Law and the Convenor of the LLM programme at the University of Sussex. He joined Sussex in 2014. Previously he worked at Monash University (Australia), the University of Leicester (England), the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) and the University of Tübingen (Germany). He holds doctorate degrees from the University of Tübingen and the University of Aberdeen.

Sirko’s main area of research is the law of obligations (contract, tort, unjust enrichment), in particular the law of damages and other remedies. He has published many articles and has authored or co-authored several books in this area. Sirko also undertakes research in private international law, and in his publications he often compares the laws of multiple jurisdictions.
