In the 2025-26 academic year, Steph is Convenor of the LLM in International Human Rights Law.

She will be teaching on the following modules:

Steph has previously taught across a range of different modules including Public Law; Public International Law; International Humanitarian Law; LGBTQI Rights; and Women and Human Rights. She has also acted as an external examiner for the MSc in Human Rights at the London School of Economics and as a second marker for the LLM in International Human Rights Law at the Department of Continuing Education, University of Oxford.

Steph directly draws on her experience of working with human rights practitioners, in order to develop innovative and engaging modules that allow students to develop a range of transferable skills, such as designing an NGO Advocacy Campaign. She also draws on her own extensive contacts to provide students with cutting-edge briefs for the Human Rights Law Clinic.

Steph is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is regularly nominated for teaching awards. In 2019, 2020 and 2023 she was shortlisted for the Sussex Spirit Award and in 2019, she was nominated for the OUP Law Teacher of the Year Award. Students regularly single out Steph’s enthusiasm for her subject matter, her innovative teaching in which students feel like active participants in their own learning, as well as her compassion.
