Jo is Associate Professor in Commercial Law and Deputy Head (Education) of Sussex Law School. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), was a finalist in the 2023 OUP Law Teacher of the Year Award, and is co-founder of Contract Ed Talk, an international network for academics with an interest in contract law pedagogy.

Before joining the University of Sussex in 2013, Jo completed a PhD in Banking Law at University College London in 2014, where she also served as a Teaching Fellow from 2011 to 2013. She previously completed an LLM in Commercial Law at University College London and an LLB at the University of Southampton.
