BIO

I joined the law team here at Sussex University in 2019 after 8 years at Brighton University, following qualification as a solicitor with DMH Stallard LLP. I teach and co-lead Contract law, Commercial Contracts and Practice, designed and co-lead the Business Law and Practice module, introduced partly in response to changes in the qualification process for solicitors in England and Wales. New for 2025 I co-designed and lead the Professional Skills: Law in Action module, an innovative skills-based module which includes embedded consultancy work for community organisations. I am Employability lead for the law school, working with practitioners to create a range of opportunities for students and work on embedding employability in the law curriculum. I co-lead the Clinical Legal Education StreetLaw programme, working with local community organisations on public legal education initiatives. My current research interests encompass legal education, including employability through a co-creation lens, professional skills development and authentic assessment.

Outside of my role at Sussex, I co-founded the 'Contract Ed Talk' network, sit on the national Client Interviewing competition committee, was until recently a trustee for RISE, Brighton-based domestic abuse charity and am a Girls Network mentor.
