Tanya's teaching is closely connected to her research interests and draws directly on her current research on sex and sexual violation in the criminal law. She is passionate about developing inclusive and accessible teaching methods and supporting students to become independent crtical thinkers. At present her teaching includes the following:

Undergraduate:

Criminal Law 1 and Criminal Law 2: Tanya the module convenor, delivers lectures and leads seminars on these two core undergraduate modules. Criminal Law 1 introduces students to the general principles and structure of criminal liabiity, while Criminal Law 2 introduces specific groups of criminal offences. Tanya is also the convenor for the Advanced versions of these modules, delivered to students on the Graduate Entry law degree.

Sex Law: Tanya developed this optional final year undergraduate module, which explores the legal regulation of sexual encounters and covers topics including: sexual consent, sex work, pornography, image-based sexual abuse, sex and disability in law, child sex offences and sado-masochism.

Postgraduate

Tanya is the Course Convenor for the LLM in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice. Within the LLM she teaches on the modules Issues in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice and Sexual Violence and Hate Crime.
