I am a documentary filmmaker, practice-based researcher and Assistant Professor in Video Production at the department of Creative and Critical Practice (CCP) of the University of Sussex. My work sits at the intersection of documentary practice, visual ethnography, media for social change and participatory filmmaking. I use audiovisual storytelling to investigate questions of place, identity, memory, belonging and social transformation.

I have over twenty years of combined experience in professional filmmaking and higher education. My practice includes directing, producing, editing, sound, cinematography and documentary research across independent film productions, academic research projects and international collaborations. My doctoral research at Edinburgh Napier University culminated in Silent Waters (2011, 38 min.), a practice-based exploration of oral histories, hidden identities, and memory in the Greek Prespa region. My earlier work includes the co-directed ethnographic documentary Of Holidays and Olives (2006, 38 min.), examining the impacts of tourism in Crete.
