Hadi's research is anchored in citizen-led practices and discourses of justice in the urban context. 

Hadi combines macro and micro-level analysis that adopt historical and socio-cultural approaches to citizenship. Hadi situates her research at the intersection between self and other, where the policies and politics of everyday interactions shape and are shaped by the macro-level dynamics of power. She explores the multiple, co-present and competing practices of everyday life and how they contribute to the production of the discourses of exclusion, inclusion and belonging. She captures the quotidian aspect of the urban experience that resist injustice and produce alternative discourses of empowerment, diversity and inclusion.
