I currently have two roles within the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS); a Research Fellow in the Astronomy Centre and the Innovations Partnership Fellow for the Data Intensive Science Centre (DISCUS).

I was born in Brighton and did my MPhys at the University of Sussex (2005-2009), followed by a Ph.D. in Astronomy (2010-2014), a post-doctoral research association (PDRA) position, and Project Scientist for the REA FP7 funded Herschel Extragalactic Legacy Project (HELP). From there I co-founded a Data-Science Consultancy, where I was Chief Technical Officer for 2.5 years. As of September 2020, I returned to the University of Sussex as a part-time research fellow, and as Innovations Partnership Fellow, I am building a Knowledge Exchange strategy for the Data Intensive Science Centre, so that data science expertise and research at Sussex, can be accessed by businesses.

Outside of Astronomy research, I enjoy the challenge of learning about and working in numerous interdisciplinary areas and have worked on some fascinating projects across both academia (e.g. fMRI imaging for Alzheimer's, rare disease clinical registry data, drought and crop forecasting) and industry (e.g. recommendation engines, automation of flood models, GPS sensor fusion, neuromarketing).
