BIO
I am the Research Programme Manager for the Faculty of Media, Arts and Humanities (MAH), a combined role to manage the Sussex Digital Humanities Lab (SHL Digital), and also work within the MAH Professional Services Team to support knowledge exchange and research development in the Faculty.
SHL Digital is a Centre of Excellence at the University of Sussex. It was founded in 2014/15 as the Sussex Humanities Lab (SHL), and gained Centre of Excellence status in 2023 when it added 'digital' to its name to emphasise the shared interest in the impacts and opportunities associated with digital transformations in culture and society. The Centre's members span the arts, humanities, informatics, social science, and the Library. I work closely with the team of Directors on the governance, development and implementation of the SHL Digital's intellectual strategy. I support the delivery of a diverse programme of research, knowledge exchange, and community outreach activities, with special focus on expanding the Centre's portfolio of funded projects and the development of bids for external funding.
I have a long trajectory in Higher Education with 15+ years dedicated to Research Development. I am a EU funding specialist with specific expertise in Framework Programmes (FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe). I am a trained journalist, and have a background in advertising, media, and finance.
My personal interests include writing poetry and fiction, and playing Argentine tangos on my accordion.
