My research lies at the interface between fundamental disciplines (mathematics, numerical analysis, physics, scientific computing) and experimental sciences (developmental biology, biochemistry, cell biology, biomedicine, plant biology) and seeks to propose, develop, analyse and simulate new mathematical and computational approaches applied to experimental sciences.

Recent projects include a collaboration with NHS trusts and local authorities across Sussex, in the form of a Covid-19 Modelling and Data task group, to model infection rates using local data. The work provided scenario-based forecasting that enabled the mitigation of Covid-19’s impacts on the local population and its services (including hospital and mortuary capacity). This work also led to the development of the HALOGEN Covid-19 Dashboard modelling tool for regional health planners’ use (see link on the left side panel of my profile).
